I felt that upgrading all software to the same distribution version would be a good step. Unfortunately in the process of fixing the problem with POP I ended up breaking other things. I've now restored the LDAP database from a backup -- the raw data file format changed between versions, so I needed to 'slapcat' on an old backup and then 'slapadd' on the new version. The new version of HESIOD no longer looks for DNS entries under the HS class, but only under the IN class. It would have been too much of a hassle to change the infrastructure to use IN, so I wrote scripts to no longer be dependent on HESIOD at all. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=187372 While I am still testing, I believe all the services offered by the 'hugli' server are now working at the new software versions. I've now upgraded 'calcutta' and 'hugli' to Fedora 8, with only 'newdelhi' remaining. Russell McOrmond wrote: > I have received reports about a problem receiving mail via POP.
