FLORA Community Consulting Services

A number of different services are offered to try to meet my client needs. Please refer to my rates chart to know how much I would charge for a given service.

• Per-Day consulting
  I may have the experience and technical knowledge that you need in your project. Any of the services that I have set up on my own servers can be set up for your organization. Here is the cover letter I send out when people ask me for a resume, and is a good introduction to what I do.

• System Administration / Internet Services
  

  Basic Email/Web/Domain hosting

  Customers wanting virtual hosting services (where customer shares hardware with other clients) are recommended to talk to Openconcept Consulting. I do system adminitration and other work for Openconcept, but no longer offer commercial hosting services on my own servers.

  Advanced hosting, managed server / your server

  There are a number of companies that offer Linux dedicated servers. The customer would hire one of these companies for the hardware/connectivity (or I would do that on their behalf), and then hire me to manage that computer and do the system administrationn work.

  In the past FLORA.ca was partnered with Sandelman.ca to create CooperIX.net. CooperIX has a facility that allows us to co-locate servers which I can manage, or which you can manage yourself. CooperIX receives transit from several different ISPs including Storm Internet Services, and various peers with OttIX.

  You may decide to just purchase your own hardware and Internet connection, and hire FLORA.ca to remotely manage your server.
