To keep using your account, you need to send in a completed renewal form. If you don't want to renew your account, simply do nothing. Unrenewed accounts will eventually be archived as resources are required for new members. The NCF office has not received a renewal form from you in response to three email messages on this topic over the past several months, so we now presume that you will not be renewing your account. Your account will be archived in a month or two. Archived accounts can be reactivated, but only with assistance from the office. In the meantime, your account will be put into 'hibernation' (limited to short sessions) on the chance that you may be returning from a long absence and just now learn about the renewal process. It's still not too late to renew! Just follow the instructions in the email below (a copy of previous emails sent to your account) or type "go renewal" for more information. If you do not want to renew, we appreciate your patience with all this email (we don't want to archive an account inadvertantly). If you've already mailed your renewal, please disregard this reminder; your renewal should be processed within one or two weeks and you will receive an acknowledgment. If there appears to be a problem, please contact the NCF office by sending email to: office@freenet.carleton.ca Thank you for your participation with our region's National Capital FreeNet, and best wishes online! Lisa Donnelly, NCF Executive Director -------------------------------- (what follows is a copy of previous renewal notice email) FreeNet accounts are now renewable annually. To keep using your account, you need to send in a renewal notice. If you don't want to renew your account, simply do nothing. Unrenewed accounts will eventually be archived as resources are required for new members. NCF now relies almost exclusively on donations from members to operate and to keep this service accessible to everyone in our community. Although not required, please consider making a donation with your renewal. This will reduce the need for and expense of online fund-raising campaigns, so that more member dollars can go to equipment and services rather than to administration and fund-raising. Typically members donate $10 to $50 per year. For example: Supporting member: $50 or more Adult: $25 Unwaged: $12 or what you can Youth (under 18): $12 or what you can Personalized FreeNet Address (email names) are available as expressions of gratitude for donations exceeding $100 per year. Members making a donation of any size with their annual account renewal will not receive email about NCF fund-raising drives during the year. To renew your NCF account: 1. Please allow up to three weeks for mail and processing. Renewals are effective for one year. An e-mail renewal request will be mailed one month prior to your renewal date. Thank you! P.S. If you don't want to renew your account, simply do nothing. Unrenewed accounts may eventually be archived as resources are required for new members. We hope you'll keep your account; please send your renewal soon to allow time for processing. --------------------------------------------------------------- Reserving your Personalized FreeNet Address --------------------------------------------------------------- If you are donating $100 or more, as an expression of gratitude you can get a Personalized FreeNet Address for sending and receiving e-mail. Use the online reservation system in the Funding Area to choose a Personalized FreeNet Address based on your name (or the name of your business) -- then, rather than having mail sent to you in the format "xx000@freenet.carleton.ca", you can use your personalized address in the format "JSmith@freenet.carleton.ca" instead! The online reservation system is available by typing "go funding" at any "Your Choice ==>" prompt and selecting the item "Reserve Your Personalized FreeNet Address" from the menu. --------------------------------------------------------------- Why Support The National Capital FreeNet? --------------------------------------------------------------- NCF serves the community of the national capital region.
